Linux sur PS3
Une des premieres distributions third-party de Linux adaptée pour la PS3 est la célèbre Yellow Dog Linux, une distribution à la base dérivée de RedHat pour les processeurs PowerPC.
Cela signifie que vous pourrez utiliser votre PS3 comme un ordinateur normal, en considérant les limitations au niveau du hardware (1 lecteur, 1 disque dur, pas de cartes supplémentaires); relativement peu d’autres infos ne sont disponibles pour le moment, hormis la disponibilité à mi-novembre pour la version PS3. On ne sais pas si il s’agit d’un live cd ou d’un version installable sur la disque dur, pas d’infos concernant les librairies ou outils disponibles pour développer des applications dédiées à la PS3, pas non plus d’infos sur la prise en charge à 100% du matériel PS3 (driver nvidia propriétaire?).
Cependant, concernant Yellow Dog, vous retrouverez un environnement desktop E17 (mouais) et tous les outils classiques de RedHat Fedora.
