Kit de développement Linux / Cell / PS3
RapidMind en association avec Terrasoft YLD (la distribution Linux officielle sur PS3) annoncent la sortie prochaine d’un Kit de Developpement pour la PS3, dédié avant tout à l’exploitation du processeur Cell (on ne parle pas de la partie graphique). L’objectif de ce SDK est également de faciliter grandement la programmation sur ce processeur complexe (architecture multi-cores).
Ce SDK sera disponible en test aux comptes payants chez Terrasoft. A noter que RapidMind organise du 20 au 26 janvier un “Hack-a-thon” pour démontrer les capacités du Cell Broadband Engine dans un environnement Linux et avec leur SDK bien évidemment. De nombreux labos, universités et autres geeks sont attendus pour cet évenement qui aura lieu au EtatsUnis.
